Design & manufacture
J P Naylor has developed its own in-house quality systems to monitor all stages of the production process.
Our dedicated team of patternmakers are able to produce the highest quality moulds and all moulds are designed and constructed to ensure that tolerances are retained throughout the mould's life.
Higher specification
Following an extensive development programme involving field trials for up to twelve months we are now producing semi-dry cast stone with a compressive strength which exceeds the requirements of the current British Standard by a staggering 60%.
Compressive strength is an important aspect from the point of view of early handling which requires a relatively good strength at 7-14 days. BS1217 specifies a minimum compressive strength at 28 days of 25 MPA (N/mm2).
This revolutionary new mix achieves a characteristic strength of 40 MPA (N/mm2) with test cubes performing considerably higher than this. Furthermore, these results are apparent in relatively young cubes, i.e. 7-21 days.
In simple terms this means less site damage, resulting in fewer replacement items being ordered and house purchasers happy with the cast stone features on their new homes.
Lifting
Cast stone weighs in the range 2200/2400 Kg/m2. Our Design Department details cast-in lifting sockets or loops to all units in excess of 60 Kg. When approving our drawings please check that your lifting arrangements meet Health & Safety and your specific requirements.
